GUIDES CAMP 2022

Guides Camp was held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 (One Day Camp for Std 8) and Sunday, December 4, 2022 (an overnight camp for Std 10) under the guidance and supervision of Guides Captains Mrs. Asher and Mrs. Ramaiya and Assisting teachers Mrs. Sawant, Mrs. Desai and Mrs. Rohit. 115 Guides gathered in the school campus at 8:30 a.m.

The 1st day began with the multi-faith prayers and hoisting the Scouts and Guides Flag. Morning session comprised of Induction by Guides Captains, followed by Meditation session. Investiture ceremony was held to invest the newly enrolled Guides (Std 8). The Guides publicly announced their commitment to the Guides Law.

Building any good camp gadget requires at least some basic skills in Camp craft, e.g. proper use of wood tools, tying basic knots and simple lashings. Referred to as “campsite improvements”, a good camp gadget should be durable, aesthetically pleasing, and serve a purpose. Post lunch, the Scouts and Guides learned knots and lashings and built innovative gadgets. Following this, Mrs. Asher upraised the Guides about First Aid and held a demonstration session for them.

The children later had recreational session where they had Action Songs, Antakshari Competition. They also practiced for the Camp fire acts. The newly invested Guides (Std 8) left the school premises as their 1 day camp concluded.

Std 10 Guides showcased their talent in dance during the Camp Fire. It was a funfilled evening that closed at around 8:30 p.m. After a sumptuous dinner, everyone hit their bedding at 10:30 p.m Everyone was up and awake at 6a.m the next morning.

All is well that ends well. Our objective of guide Camp to offer an opportunity for the youth to grow, develop and practice the principles of togetherness and self reliance and to provide an environment to promote team work, leadership and unity was achieved. We closed the camp session at 10:30 a.m after a quick Swatchatha Abhiyaan in the campus.
