To sensitize the youth of today and inculcate in them the values of empathy and compassion, the guides of Std VIII of our school visited the ‘Lady Hirabai Jehangir Health Unit’ at Tardeo – (An Old Age Home) as a part of their social service Project, on Friday, July 26, 2019.
Our pupils carried biscuits, Kopra Pak and Dhoklas for the 52 inmates.
The students raised countless queries related to the inmates and their care, and also spent thought provoking moments with the inmates.
It was really a poignant experience for all the students to visit the Old Age Home and interact with its inmates. To break the monotony of their lives, the students presented few songs and dances. The children also made them dance and sing along with them.
The inmates were overwhelmed and requested for frequent visits. This visit was a huge learning experience for the young citizens and after spending two valuable hours, the students vowed to do something for the senior citizens and contribute towards the betterment of their condition.
Kudos to the trustees, the nursing staff and subordinate staff for their selfless dedication.
