The Maritime Awareness Programme cum Exhibition was organized at Princess Dock, Mazgaon, Bhaucha Dhakka on Thursday, 12 December 2019. The Maritime Department organized this programme with an aim to promote Cruise Shipping and Maritime Navy.
The exhibition was inaugurated by The Mayor of Mumbai, Mrs. Kishori Pednekar. Bai M. N. Gamadia Girls’ High school along with 55 Secondary and higher secondary schools all over Mumbai participated in the exhibition. The students were accompanied by teachers and parents. They were briefed about Maritime history, Information about the ship, anatomy and controls of the ship, firefighting equipment and life boats in case of emergencies. They were also made aware of various career opportunities in cruise shipping and Merchant Navy.
The students showed interest in cruise shipping and merchant navy after exploring the exhibition.
