On Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, the students of Standard IX, accompanied by Ms. Karisma Parekh and Mrs. Sushila Rohit, went on an educational visit to two prominent institutions in Mumbai — the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) and the Reserve Bank of India Monetary Museum (RBI Monetary Museum). The visit aimed to enrich classroom learning by offering real-world exposure to India’s rich cultural and economic heritage.
The day began with a visit to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum. Students explored a vast collection of artefacts including ancient sculptures, miniature paintings, decorative arts, and galleries dedicated to Maratha history, the Indus Valley Civilization, and Buddhist relics. Interactive digital kiosks, 3D exhibits, and a special exhibition of contemporary art curated by Puja Vadhel made the experience even more engaging and informative.
Later, students proceeded to the Reserve Bank of India Monetary Museum (RBI Monetary Museum), where they learned about the evolution of currency in India — from the barter system and ancient punch-marked coins to modern paper money and digital transactions. The museum also showcased the role of the Reserve Bank of India in maintaining economic stability through rare coin collections, currency timelines, and interactive displays.
Overall, the educational visit provided students with valuable insights into both India’s cultural and monetary journey. It helped them connect textbook knowledge with real-life experiences, encouraged curiosity, and fostered a deeper appreciation for the nation’s heritage.
