An educational programme on Burns Prevention & Skin Donation was conducted for the students of Standards V to VII on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The session was organized by the Burns Association of India with the objective of raising awareness about burn injuries, their prevention, and the significance of skin donation.
The talk was delivered by Mr. Navin Vazirani (Hospital Coordinator & Medical Social Worker) assisted by Ms. Prabhavi Kamble( Senior Research Officer)
The speakers highlighted the risks associated with Diwali crackers and diyas, and explained what burn injuries are, along with their types and degrees.
Students were informed about the emergency helpline number and were guided on safety measures to be followed in case of a fire at home or in tall buildings. Demonstrations on first aid for burn injuries were also provided.
The importance of skin donation as a means to help burn victims recover was emphasized.
Towards the end of the program, an impact test was administered to assess the students’ understanding and assimilation of the knowledge shared. The session was highly informative and inspiring, equipping students with essential information on burn prevention and encouraging them to contribute to society through skin donation.
