The 1st POCSO monthly meeting for the Academic year was held on Thursday, June 24, 2025, with participation from the Principal, student members, parents, our school counselor, and teachers.
The session focused on key aspects of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, covering offenses like stalking, pornography, and provisions for both male and female offenders.
The importance of child-friendly procedures and special courts for speedy trials was highlighted.
Self-defense principles were also discussed by the school counsellor:
Preparation – Stay alert, avoid isolated areas.
Avoidance – React quickly, say no, shout, push away.
Escape – Seek help, avoid unsafe situations, report to trusted adults.
Students were reminded not to accept sweets from strangers, to stay informed, and to always communicate with parents.
The meeting aimed to raise awareness and empower children to stay safe and speak up.
